Women on Mission

Women on Mission is a missions organization for women in our church who are 18 and older. Through Women on Mission, a woman can recognize her status in Christ and reach beyond to a global vision as she fulfills Christ's missions purpose in her life.

Membership in Women on Mission is open to any woman who is 18 or older, even if she is not a member of Monument Baptist Church. We have two groups meeting at MBC. The Day Group meets each Tuesday Morning at 9:30 a.m. The Night Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. If you are able to, you are welcome to be a part of both groups. We focus on Bible Study, Missionary Programs, Prayer Programs and Mission Projects. Please join us for any of these meetings. Watch for reminders in the bulletin or on the overhead screens each Sunday. For further information, call Jeanette Cliett at 713-472-7777 or Donna McMahon at 281-479-5744.

Woman's Missionary Union

What is WMU?

WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. This radical involvement happens as WMU in a church leads people to experience missions personally through ministry and witness: to develop missions awareness; to support missions work through prayer and giving; and to nurture lifestyles that reflect commitment and obedience to the Great Commission.

Why are missions important?

The mission of God is to reconcile a lost world to Him. We are partners in this mission when we carry out Christ's Great Commission as stated in Matthew 28:18-20. In short, missions are important because God commanded us to go and tell others about Him and His love for the world.

WMU Organizations:

WMU provides ongoing missions organizations for girls, women, and coed groups in all age levels. The consistent purpose of these organizations is to help a believer develop in four key areas of mission living: praying for and giving to missions, doing missions, learning about missions, and developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle. The organizations range from pre-school to adults.

  • Mission Friends, for all preschool children
  • Girls in Action (GAs), for girls in grades 1-6
  • Children in Action, for boys and girls in grades 1-6 Acteens, for girls in grades 7-12
